Alternating the Experience re-imagines the historic mill town aesthetic for contemporary urban living. Located in the heart of downtown Greenville, South Carolina, the development features a dynamic interplay of alternating tower designs and base buildings, creating a vibrant and engaging streetscape.
The design features residential, commercial office, and educational spaces, serving the community of Greenville. Based on a rigorous grid system, the facade incorporates subtle “push and pull” elements to add depth and visual interest. This interplay of planes and shadows creates a dynamic and ever-changing appearance throughout the day. Internal courtyards punctuate the towers, offering intimate and
inviting spaces for residents, businesses, and the public to enjoy. These green oases provide respite from the urban bustle and foster a strong sense of community within the development. This project demonstrates a contemporary approach to urban design, seamlessly blending historical references with modern aesthetics and functionality to create a truly unique and inspiring living and working environment.
