DEMETRA KARRES

INSPIRE.DESIGN.CREATE

Demetra’s background and love for the arts brought her to study architecture. Demetra grew up in Charlotte, NC, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Clemson University. At Clemson, she participated in many leadership opportunities and joined a research project exploring how architecture can influence individuals who develop cognitive dissonance. She is fondly interested in residential architecture, specifically historic preservation and restoration. She enjoys reading, drawing, traveling, and hanging out with close friends in her free time.
Architecture is about expressing the beauty and stability of a structure. The connection that can be made through different pathways of architecture allows individuals to interpret things in their own unique ways. I love how architecture enables everyone to see and create different projects, fueling new ideas. With an interest in historic preservation and studying the effects of architecture as space, I hope to integrate these two ideas and create meaningful and impactful architecture. With experiences from collaboration combined with your own abilities and talents, the results will likely be valuable, memorable, and beautiful.
